Animal Affections

Saturday, February 9, 2008 from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.

Around Valentines Day, we think of those we love, and those who love us in return.  At Rye Nature Center, that includes our animal friends!  Join Environmental Education Director Nancy Carlson for a close up look at many of the animals that call Rye Nature Center home.  Make friends with Tigger, the Corn Snake.  Get our resident cockatoo to say “Hi Max.”  You will even learn about some of the less well-loved creatures such as giant insects and bees.

Nancy Carlson and the Rye Nature Center are locally famous for “All ‘bout Critters” birthday parties and all of our animals are used in programs for school and scout groups.  Here is your chance to meet them individually.  Lean about how each species shows affection for others of their kind, and how our love of pets and wildlife enriches our own lives.

The charge for this program is $10 per person or $25 per family.  The event will be held rain or shine.  Pre-registration is not required.
