New: 50th Anniversary Book!                                                                                                                           

The Rye Nature Center will be releasing a commemorative book to celebrate its 50th anniversary. The book, out in 2009, will be a retrospective and tour of the Nature Center, its grounds, and its half-century history. The photo-rich volume will be informative and fun while spanning the origins of the land, up through the early and middle years and through the present state of the Rye Nature Center.

• Do you have anecdotes about your or your children's time at the Rye Nature Center? Do you have photos to match those anecdotes? Are you the second or third generation of Nature Center-goer? Did you keep your old camp tee-shirt as memorabilia? Use it to tell the tale. Got old newspaper clippings stashed? Share them with us. Tell us what the Nature Center has meant to you. Those who have great stories and fond memories to tell can be a part of this commemorative book. Submissions will be accepted for well-written pieces of your favorite times at the Rye Nature Center. Hard copies cannot be returned, so please send copies only.

• Are you a photographer, painter, or illustrator who has been inspired by the Center's natural beauty, ruins, people or events? An art contest is being held for submission of photographs and illustrations of the Nature Center. Winning photographs will be included with a photo credit in the book. Pictures cannot be returned, so please send copies only.
