
Earth Day Celebration 2008
Saturday, April 19th, 2008 from 1 to 4 PM
The Friends Rye Nature Center will again host over two-dozen environmental organizations and green businesses for an Earth Day Celebration from 1 to 4 PM on Saturday, April 19th, 2008. The event is open to the public at no charge. It features exhibitors, demonstrations, lectures, guided hikes, activities and a showing of student artwork.
Participants can learn to improve their own yards and households from a wide variety of speakers and workshops on topics ranging from organic lawn care, nature-friendly household products and green investing. The event will also focus globally with discussions on hot environmental topics in Westchester County, environmental literacy and global warming. Join the Friends of Rye Nature Center and its partnering organizations in celebrating the earth with a nature poetry hike, nature crafts for kids and a student art show.
There is no charge for the event which is suitable for all ages. Pre-registration is not required. It is held at Rye Nature Center, 873 Boston Post Rd. (US Route 1), Rye, NY.
