Take a break from your holiday preparations for this relaxing program in front of the fireplace at Rye Nature Center. For millennia, humans of many cultures pass away the longest night of the year huddled for warmth and listening to traditional folk tales. Rye Nature Center revives this tradition for families and individuals of all ages. Follow the luminaries to the fire circle to hear tales of the winter season. Warm up with hot cider, cocoa, tea and coffee in front of our fireplace. Take a brief, brisk night hike to see how our animals are faring in the cold weather. Make a craft and enjoy some home-baked goodies.
Story Teller (and Nature Center Director) Russ Johnson will continue with original tales from his "Rainbow Dragon" story cycle.
The fee for this program is $10 per person, $25 per family. The event will be held rain or shine. Pre-registration is not required. This event is suitable for all ages.
