The Rye Nature Center owes much of its success to its Friends, and the volunteer support we receive in all areas of our operation. Volunteer projects do not require special skils and will be supervised by our staff. Volunteers are generally needed for 1-1 1/2 hours, but longer experiences could be arranged.
Animal Care Volunteers are needed daily to help feed, clean and interact with our resident Nature Center pets. Volunteers should be at least 14 years old, and able to commit to helping out once a week for at least six weeks. The next animal care volunteer training is March 2, 2013. Please contact Jeni Casinelli or call (914) 967-5150.
Summer Camp Volunteers help our educators and specialists provide fun, hands-on nature explorations to children. Prior experience working with children is preferred, but not required. For more information please contact Lauren Donnelly.
