Forest Kindergarten

Thursdays 3:15 - 4:45 PM

Friends of Rye Nature Center's Forest Kindergarten program is based on Swiss concepts and the principles of place-based education to encourage children's connection with the natural world and nurture their curiosities.

Some examples of activities and lessons include learning the basics of tools, practicing survival situation essentials, foraging basics, and more!

This class will be held entirely outside in our outdoor classroom area and the Nature Center grounds, with the exception of extreme weather, wind, or thunderstorms. Children should come equipped with warm/waterproof clothing and footwear every day.
