Help Support Pollinator Conservation:

A Community Initiative

Over the past year and a half, I've dedicated myself to researching the endangerment of migratory monarch butterflies through Rye High School, Columbia University, and The Museum of Natural History. Currently as a Senior in Rye, I have expanded my award winning research to educating my community and increasing involvement and advocacy for their conservation. The monarch butterfly population is in detrimental decline, and these beautiful creatures play a critical role in pollination and the health of our environment. That's why I decided to take action.

I’ve worked closely with local organizations, including the Rye Nature Center, city council members, and various community groups, to raise awareness about the importance of pollinators. Together, we created pollinator gardens across Rye—an initiative that would support not only monarch butterflies but also other essential species.

I’m proud to share that, thanks to the hard work and dedication of my volunteer team, “Our Garden,” we successfully raised nearly $1,000. This funding allowed us to plant over 300 native plants at the Rye Nature Center—a crucial step in providing food and shelter for monarchs during their migration.

But the work doesn’t stop here! To ensure the long-term success of our efforts, we need your help to expand this project and reach even more areas of Rye that can support these essential pollinators. Your generous donation will allow us to plant even more native plants, maintain the existing gardens, and continue educating the community on how we can all help protect monarchs and other pollinators.

Every donation, no matter how big or small, will make a meaningful difference. Together, we can ensure a thriving future for monarch butterflies and protect the vital ecosystems they support. Thank you for your support!
