Back by popular demand, Rye Nature Center’s beloved Square Dance of the late 1980s and early 1990s is returning to the 47 acres!
Grab your partner, do-si-do, and join us for a festive night of family fun, music, and classic square dancing led by a professional caller. We’ll be kicking up our heels right in the parking lot with good food and great company.
This family-friendly event is full of old-fashioned charm, and sure to be a night to remember.

What an unforgettable night! Thank you to everyone who came out and filled the tent with so much energy and joy. This year we welcomed over 250 people to the Nature Center's first square dance in decades.
In true community spirit, the dancing didn't stop and the music carried on even when we lost power for about an hour. It’s a moment that will be remembered and retold for years to come! Check out some of the scenes from the evening!
Our night also featured a delicious pie contest. Judges included Assemblyman Steve Otis, John Johnston, Maria Tigre-Barbosa, Emily Ivers, and former Rye Nature Center Executive Director, Tracy Kay. Awards were given to Robert Dorin (Best Crumb), Hillary Shafir (Hottest Pie), Cathie Bischoff (Best Crust), Sara Moreau (Best Cobbler), Emily O'Neil (Best Presentation), and Emily Woods (Best Pie Overall).
